Volunteer Workers Accident Insurance

By July 26, 2016January 20th, 2021Employee Benefits

Volunteer workers are a very important and special resource to the organization to which they commit their time, efforts and resources.  Volunteer Workers Accident Insurance protects an organization’s volunteer workforce for medical costs associated with an accidental injury incurred while working on behalf of the organization.

Workers compensation is not available for volunteers because they do not fit the definition of an employee.

There is always the possibility that a volunteer may suffer an injury or perhaps just a cut, scratch or bruise, or perhaps something much more serious.

In many cases, the only coverage available to volunteer workers for injuries and accidents is the coverage provided by their own individual health insurance plan.

A policy covering Accident Medical Expense may be purchased to pay for necessary medical expenses incurred as the result of injuries sustained in an accident.
