This past weekend, Rue Insurance conducted the first NJ Defensive Driver Training of 2024. This complimentary course is available for all Rue Insurance clients. Upon completion of the class, participants will:
- Be eligible to receive, for 3 years, a discount up to 5% on their personal automobile insurance.
- Be eligible to have their motor vehicle driving record reduced by 2 points.
- Receive a Certificate of Class Completion.
The 6 hour course is derived from the National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course. Four of the course’s main objectives are:
- Identify behaviors that can be controlled and factors beyond a driver’s control.
- Recognize potential hazards when driving and make appropriate driving choices to avoid them.
- Choose safe, responsible, and respectful driving behaviors in different situations and conditions.
- Evaluate your current driving choices and behaviors and identify alternative driving choices you can make.
Remember, defensive driving is a choice. Only you can make the choice to identfy hazards and change your driving behavior. If you choose wisely, you will become a better driver. If you choose to avoid these best practices, then your chances of getting into an accident increases.
